Go Floral for that outdoors adventure you had in the garden…. pick Dragonflies for your young handsome knight who defends the castle….. or select Traditional patterns for when his mother comes to visit.
Pick the occasion, select the theme, decide on a direction…. because we have Paper to inspire…. for the Cardmaker or Scrapbooker in you.
Rose-Marie has been having a lot of fun lately. She has been planning and making Cards for the display boards in the store, creating Cards for Classes, arranging colours in different ways to make the same Card look new. Of course the Classroom looks like a “bomb” hit it… …. or as she likes to say …. everything is artistically arranged.
The Beachis looking good, some of the shorelines are higher than most years but this is all in keeping with how Mother Nature changes the landscape to keep the wonder alive.
“Weekend Rest”is the most appropriate Card for any one wanting to skip the beach and go deeper into the woods. Not too deep to get the car stuck but deep enough to hear the Loons, see the Geese or watch an occasional Moose walk past.
Rose-Marie did a find job of this card showing the campsite in a tucked away spot with a open lake to enjoy a canoe ride. This is where memories are made and this Card helps keep them alive. Perfect card for family or a friend.
Around the point from your campsite is a little cove. As you canoe closer, tucked away along the shoreline you pass a family of Loons or maybe they squawk, sputter and then fly off because you disturbed them…. in any effect, this last card tries to show the tranquility of what is around the corner.
It’s pretty hard not to like your Mom…. she helped you with your homework, baked you cookies when you were hungry and kept an eye out for you, no matter what stupid thing you did…. that’s what Moms are for. Using a sunflower stamp for a Mother’s Day card would not have been my first choice but then again, sunflowers are bright and cheerful, they make you smile, and they turn there heads to the sunshine everyday…. To all the amazing Mom’s… here is a Card for you.
Congratulations this month, goes to Maria of Peterborough for making the best use of Sunflowers and layering for the Mother’s Day Card Challenge. Maria used stamps J636 Sunflower Field & N691 Lots of Squares. in a delightful combination of colouring, layering and masking. Well done Maria
Send us your card creation for our monthly card contests. The winner gets a $20.00 store/show/online credit. Not every fancy card wins, not every dazzling card wins…. the Card that wins is the one that feels right for the occasion. Please note that your Card…. must incorporate one or more of Frog’s Whiskers Ink or Rosewood stamps or products in the design of the card.
In our next Card Challenge….. for June …. Lets have a “Father’s Day“ Card contest. Father’s Day is a celebration honoring fathers and celebrating fatherhood, paternal bonds, and the influence of fathers in society. We’re not just talking about drinking beer and eating cold pizza
Let’s see what you can do. It doesn’t matter if it is a “Your a Great Dad” or a “Thank You” one, it must express the essence of the Card Contest theme
Cards come in many shapes and sizes and are made using a wide variety of different methods. None method is more popular to enhance Cards than Die Cuts..… be they Spellbinder, Memory Box, Frantic Stamper and more.
Run paper through two rollers on a Big Shot and that piece of paper is instantly transformed. You go from okay to Olay with a few easy cranks. Thentop it off with a stamped saying or even accent it with a branch or two, or maybe a background with hills, a mountain side or a whispering pond….. a Card is born
Wherever your creativity takes you, the adventure creates the smile and here at Frog`s Whiskers Ink we go on lots of adventures…….
I don’t know if it is too early to talk about the Leaves of Autumn or ….. judging by the weather, we might be right on time! Weather or Not….This card has captured the swirl and magic of what comes with Autumn.
To get the shimmering colour to this Card we looked to our best selling product at Creative Festival this past week…. “Pearlescent Watercolors” This is a set of 21 marvelous watercolours and the sky, trees even the land & sea are not the limit when it comes to adding dimension, sparkle or pizazz to any Card.
What a SHOW !!!
What a BIG Thank You !! … we wish to give to everyone. To all the people that came to our booth at the CreativFestival, you are the GREATEST . We met lots of new people and hugs & Hi’s to many others.
Congratulations go to Becky & Lynne the CreativFestival (Fri & Sat) draw winners. They picked up lots of “loot” with their winners coupon….. It is always hard to decide what to pickup at a show and we try to bring you a good selection of all we have to offer here at the store.
Many customers called/emailed ahead and had their shopping list requests set aside, we also want to thank you too. This works out very well. We do not like to say….. “yes we have what your looking for but…. its back at the store”
Our booth was set up a little differently this year with the open end and it really had a “more room” feel.
Sandyheld down the “make & take” booth, with Bettyon the floor looking after everyone and filling in for breaks. Rose-Marie taught in the show classroom each morning and then demonstrated and answered “How to??” questions, all day long .
Several people made mention of all the wonderful cards on display on the top of the spinners and down the sides…. if there was a card that you wanted another look at, get back to us and we will try to post it on the website under [Samples]
Don’t forget to come and visit us over the summer or go online anytime
Cheers from Rose-Marie & Tom
