April Showers bring May Flowers….. I guess this year it has been May, June, July, August showers….. so we should have lots of flowers all over the place.
Maria of Peterborough, ON…. has noticed the flowers and she had some fun creating these two Cards…. but not on paper.
She writes, “Attached are pictures of two coasters I made using two of your stamps: Hibiscus H30370, and Sketchy Poppies K31019. Each was stamped onto a coaster with Archival Ink and colored with Copic markers, after, they were sealed and sprayed with a waterproof spray.”
Well done Maria. So everyone, go ahead and experiment…. who says “Paper” is the only way to go….
What happened to the summer of 2017…. everyone is talking about Back-to-School….. Not us.!!!
We’re still in Cottage Country Mode here
Take the winner of the Canada Day Card challenge…. A great example of “It’s Still summertime and don’t rush it!!”
Congratulations to Karen of Orleans, ON. and her winning Card that she sent us. She parked her trailer right by the lake, in a very peaceful spot.
I am sure the fire is crackling and a few fish are in the pan as our campers wait for dark to descend. Then the Local Parks Committee can set off the Annual fireworks display. A perfect Canada Day Celebration… eh??
Send us your card creation for our monthly card contests. The winner gets a $20.00 store/show/online credit. Not every fancy card wins, not every dazzling card wins…. the Card that wins is the one that feels right for the occasion. Please note that your Card…. must incorporate one or more of Frog’s Whiskers Ink or Rosewood stamps or products in the design of the card.
In our next Card Challenge….. for Sept…. Lets take a look at what you can do with Fall Fairs, a stable event for most rural and urban communities. It doesn’t matter if it is a “Fun on the Rides” or a “Fall Preserves 1’st Prize” Card…. it must express the essence of the Card Contest theme
Rose-Marie just put some of her old teaching stamps in the Clearance Bin. These are stamps she used for demos and teaching Cardmaking classes. Many of the companies have discontinued the images or the company themselves have retired and the stamps are no longer available….. So you are in for a real Good….
no GREAT DEAL.
Special announcement….. Rose-Marie just finished over 20 new images. She went from the Wind in the Pine (Stamp 1135) where you can hear the wind howl through the branches…. to some, get ready for the Fall with a walk along the Fence Row (Stamp J1138) Warm Thoughts for Christmas (Stamp D1148) or pile the Straw Bales (Stamp F1145) and arrange the pumpkins (Stamp F1144 then add Stamp A1142 to make the pumpkin face)
These new images will work well alone or stamp together to create wonderful cards, then use them with other Rosewood Stamps as they are made to compliant each other

There never seems to be enough hours in a day to complete all the wonderful things that race through my head, that I want to get done. So to compromise I do a “little of this” and a “little of that” (kinda like making a cake) and Ta!! DAH!!.…. its another successful day here at Frog’s Whiskers Ink.
Just put some more dies on the website….. Tattered Lace, Memory Box, Frantic Stamper and more. Take a look or better yet a summer road trip and see what we have to offer. Stock is continuously revolving so each day it can be different. Please remember we only carry a limited supply of dies.

Call for your spot at the Table….
Frog’s Whiskers stamps travel the World and the problems in one country, are the same as another…..
Amanda from Australia emailed the other day…. She had purchased the Barnyard Rooster stamp K17002 …. now what?
“I love your stamps.” she writes but, ” I’m a bit disappointed in the barn with the rooster. After stamping and colouring it, I’m not sure what to do with the big gap on the bottom half of the right side. Perhaps you have some ideas?”
So I played with several ideas… This is where your vivid imagination gets to roam wild & free. Its is a “Hi How are you” card…. a “Happy Birthday” card or an “Oooops I forgot“
The Barnyard scene is peaceful, gentle and so much can be done from there. So lets keep it low key on the outside and put a dazzling sentiment on the inside. All the sayings in the example, will fit on a regular card to make it personal.
So if you run into a problem in the Barnyard or anywhere else…. pause… take a moment “3, 2, 1…” and then it will all come together.
Rose-Marie has been experimenting with different card making possibilities….. in other words she has been playing in the classroom coming up with new and different ideas.
Meanwhile… we have also been working on the website. The transition from WinXP to Win7 has not been without it’s frustrations….. however the Dies (under Supplies)are starting to come together.
I just put up 15 New Dies picked randomly from the shelf and over the course of the next few weeks the website will be brought up to date.
and a reminder that Rose-Marie has some great Classes coming up and while we are thinking of “Dies”check out the special she has for you with Stamp & Die Classes.
